This is blatantly untrue
Companies do not experience one day of revenue loss and pull the plug, destroying years of work and firing dozens if not hundreds of employees.
Companies which experience loss in revenue and consumer interest make investments and changes in order to regain their users/customers. That’s why organized protests and boycotts WORK. Tumblr will NOT go down after one bad day or week, but they might be willing to listen to its userbase if we put up an organized protest. (If you don’t believe me, think about how long sites like MySpace and Google+ hang around with fractions of their previous user base, often for years.)
Yahoo paid over one billion dollars for Tumblr, and the website will not go offline because of a one-day event, so in conclusion,
DO log off on December 17th to show Tumblr that you disapprove of its recent content ban and clumsy execution of censorship.

I can’t believe the irony of banning “female presenting nipples”. I mean they’re using language which inherently acknowledges the lack of differences between male and female nipples. They’re saying it’s impossible to tell male and female nipples apart so they’re just banning the nipples they think “look female”

PETA: They’d rather spend their money on publicity campaigns than on the animals in their care. PETA killed 73.8% of the animals in their care in 2015 (x)
FCKH8: Is a for-profit company that exploits oppressed groups for money. They’re also wildly uninformed, and spread misogyny, cissexism and bi/panphobia, as well as stealing their posts/designs (x)
Autism Speaks: They spend most of their money on researching a way to eliminate autism, heighten the stigma against autism and don’t have a single autistic person on their board (x)

An autistic friend of mine just said this to me “The harder I work at communication the more people expect from me and the less they are willing to compromise.” and it is the most fucking heartbreaking thing I’ve heard.

People will turn any progress you make toward being “normal” - no matter how straining or difficult it is for you, no matter how little it actually helps you - as either inspiration porn, or proof that you don’t really need accommodations, you just need to “apply yourself! :)))))”

Oh christ yes. No willingness on their part to do any of the work ever either - they get angry if you even ask. And there is no benefit of the doubt given if they see something they don’t expect. None at all. They pick up on some momentary facial expression they think is weird? RAEG. It’s fucking awful.
(For the record: deeply neuroatyical but not anywhere on the autism spectrum. So it might be people having even less idea than usual how to react to, you know, anything.)
